Arrest On Cards For Key YSRCP Leader?

Is an arrest imminent for YSRCP leader and former minister Seediri Appalaraju? The situation remains tense, and YSRCP supporters are anxious about what could happen next.

According to reports, police issued notices to Appalaraju on Saturday, personally serving them at his residence in Palasa. The case traces back to 2024, when Appalaraju, then a minister in the YSRCP government, made abusive remarks against opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu.

Following those remarks, TDP worker Boorla Vijaya Krishnam Raju filed a complaint against Appalaraju. Acting on that complaint, the police summoned the former minister for questioning. He appeared at the Kasibugga police station, where he is currently being interrogated.

As of now, it is unclear whether Appalaraju will be arrested or released with a warning. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not made any formal announcement regarding his custody status.

The Chandrababu Naidu government has maintained a firm stance against both verbal and physical acts of provocation. Chandrababu and Lokesh have repeatedly stated that those who engage in abusive or inflammatory behaviour will face consequences through legal means.

This case could set an example for how the administration plans to handle political misconduct moving forward.
