
Former Hassan JDS MP, Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced for life as per the final judgement. The former MP has been in jail on charges of rape, for the past 14 months as prisoner of trial.
Rs 10 lakh fine has also been imposed by Bengaluru People’s Representatives Special Court. The Court ordered that the victim be given Rs 7 lakh as compensation.
It is known that the Court found the former MP guilty after completing the hearing recently. Revanna pleaded with the judge to reduce his sentence. He burst out crying loudly in the Court.
On August 1, Revanna cried loudly after the judgement was passed. He broke down after he was brought outside the Court.
In 2024, a woman from KR Nagar filed a case against Prajwal Revanna at Holenarasipura police station for sexual abuse. The victim (47) said she was sexually assaulted at Gannigada farmhouse. Later few more charges of sexual assault were filed against Revanna.
