In the by-elections held in the erstwhile Warangal district by-elections in 2012, a fight broke out between Konda Surekha who was in YSR Congress back then, and TRS candidate Bhikshapati. A case of election code violation has been registered in the wake of Sharmila and Vijayamma campaigning in support of Surekha.

YSRTP fans did some Hungama at the court for a while after a positive verdict came from the court.
