She teams beat Eve Teasers black and blues!

The newly appointed She teams in Hyderabad are proving to be very effective in dealing with the menace of women harassment. So far 80 persons including 37 minors were detained by the She teams. Jail term was awarded to eight persons while fines were imposed to 29 so far by the courts.

There are allegations that innocents are being picked up by some parents but police claim that they are recording the activities of the offenders with cameras and cellphones and there is no chance of innocents being detained.

The police have organized counselling sessions for the teenagers caught. Counselors from different NGOs and colleges were roped in for this purpose.There are 100 She teams in the city. Each team comprises five police personnel and they have been provided small cameras to record the movements of suspects. They are dealing with all cases of harassment of women including physical and mental abuse.
