Shooting in NYC; Man yells “Allahu Akbar”

In another horrifying incident of terror, a shooting occurred in New York City. A 29 year old driving a rental truck crashed it into a school bus near the World Trade Center on a bicycle path in New York carrying firearms and shot several people, of whom 8 are dead and the rest injured.

The incident was finally in control when a police officer shot the man in the abdomen and then took him into custody. The shooter, who is from Uzbekistan, a country in Central Asia, is currently under treatment at a hospital. The incident is being investigated by FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, a task force targeted to tackle terrorism.

The suspect’s name has been discovered to be Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov who was residing in Tampa, Florida since 2010. Witnesses said that the man shouted “Allahu Akbar” after getting off his truck. The bicycle path he was driving on was busy with traffic and recent footage shows several smashed cycles. The mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio is calling this incident “a cowardly act of terror”.
