
Going into the story, five men, including CMO correspondent, Bharat Gupta are believed to have taken part in this signature fraud.
These men used these fake signatures to issue CMPs regarding the transfer of doctors and engineers and teachers in the state. None of these CMPs are issued officially and all of them were duped by the said gang of 5.
They used to charge Rs 30,000 to 50,000 per fake digital signature and they are said to have amassed Rs 15 lakh through this means.
This scam has been going on since April and it is primarily established that a total of 66 CMPs with these fake digital signatures have been issued till now.
SP Harsha Vardhan Raju stated that the culprits have been identified and further investigation is underway to determine the degree of these fraudulent activities.
