Silent Rebellion Brewing Against Botsa?

Senior Politician Botsa Satyanarayana is contesting from Cheepurupalli constituency once again. Botsa won here in 2004 and 2009 but lost in 2014 due to the bifurcation.

He regained the seat in 2019 after joining YSR Congress. Chandrababu Naidu delayed announcing the candidate for this seat until the last minute. Initially, he tried to send Ghanta Srinivasa Rao from Vizag to Vizianagaram district to take on Botsa.

But Ghanta who is known for Winning from any where in any condition refused sending a bad signal. Chandrababu Naidu made things worse by sending Kala Venkat Rao from Rajam to Cheepurupalli as the candidate.

It appeared more like accomodating the Senior Leader somewhere with out refusing ticket. So, the morale of TDP cadre is low.

But the indications from the constitution are things may not be easy for Botsa in Cheepurupalli.

There are clear signs of anti-incumbency. The other day, three families that dictate politics in the crucial Merakamoodidham Mandal joined TDP in the presence of Kala Venkat Rao.

In 2019, YSR Congress got 8,700 majority in this Mandal. TDP is looking at 4,000 majority here. There are many joinings from YSR Congress to TDP in other Mandals as well.

If Kala Venkat Rao can hold the ground and do well with the electioneering, he can even spring a surprise upset over Botsa Satyanarayana.
