Sonia Gandhi comes in support of Naidu!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu have found a new ally in his fight for the special status for the state. It was none other than Naidu’s biggest foe, Sonia Gandhi. The Congress Party President took up the issue seriously and dashed a letter to the Prime Minister reminding him the promises made to the truncated state during the state division.

The then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the floor of the Rajya Sabha on February 20, 2014 promised ‘Special category’ status to the successor state of AP but the new government is killing time for arriving at a consensus between all the states in the country. This issue has come as a life line to the beaten to death Congress party in Andhra Pradesh.

Sonia Gandhi’s support will corner the NDA government as the Special Status now become more of a political decision. Since Sonia Gandhi is batting for it, Congress Chief Ministers should normally agree. With BJP CMs agreeing the majority states should not be having any problems. Congress MPs are gearing up to raise the issue during the Budget session in both houses of Parliament.
