Sonia’s Strongman Reveals Congress’ Apathy

Jairam Ramesh who is close to Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. Jairam Ramesh is a part of Group of Ministers (GoM) who played a crucial role in the state bifurcation by drafting the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, penned a book ‘Old History, New Geography’ about what happened back then. The book has some interesting details about what happened behind the scenes.

In the book, Jairam Ramesh mentioned that Raghuveera Reddy and Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy strongly fought for Rayala Telangana. They demanded that their native districts, Anantapur and Kurnool to be included to Telangana. Both of them even submitted the resolutions of around 1600 gram panchayat to add their districts to Telangana.

Center even prepared an Act with Rayala Telangana as well but the proposal was dropped in the last minute. Irony is that Congress has made Raghuveera Reddy AP PCC President who do not want to continue with Andhra Pradesh. That reflects the poor state of affairs in the party which was reduced to Zero seats in the last elections.
