Kodela Slashes Disqualification Petitions!

Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao slashed 11 disqualification petitions moved by YSR Congress on thirteen of their defected MLAs. The Speaker slashed the petitions saying that they are not in the prescribed format as per the Indian Constitution and can not be taken up for consideration.

These are the petitions for disqualification of Bhuma Nagi Reddy, Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao, Jyothula Nehru, Jaleel Khan, Jaya Ramulu, Adinarayana Reddy, V. Subba Rao, Venkata Ramana Murthy, Sunil Kumar, Bhuma Akhila Priya and others. This comes as a huge relief to the defected MLAs.

Since this is a technical issue, YSR Congress can easily correct that and file new petitions in the prescribed format. 20 YSR Congress MLAs have defected to the ruling party. Even though YSR Congress is pressing for the disqualification, the party is also not in a position to face the by-elections.
