“Spitting on Sindhu’s Medal Was Just a Satire”

While most of India was happy about PV Sindhu’s accomplishment at the Rio Olympics this year, there were some who had unpleasant comments regarding her achievement. Popular Malayalam director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan had a similar view which was reflected in his facebook post stating, “Everyone is celebrating Sindhu’s achievement now. What if I spit on this? What is there to celebrate much about it?”

However, his hateful remark received a lot of backlash from fans which incited his latest clarification to the post. The award-winning filmmaker again used the social networking site Facebook to explain, in detail, his previous remark.

His long post basically says that his previous hostile comment was supposed to be satirical and humorous; not at all what the readers took it as. But, apparently, his plan backfired again going by the comments to his post as people hitting harsh for his unconvincing explanation.
