Strange Politics in AP!

Strange are the ways of politics. Arch Rival of TDP and main opposition party of the state, YSR Congress had openly extended its help to the ruling party and even issued a press release accordingly. This interesting incident happened in the backdrop of Tirupati bielection.

YSR Congress is not contesting this election as the bielection is necessitated due to the death of a sitting MLA and his wife is contesting. But Congress refused to respect the tradition and put up its candidate paving way for a contest. The election campaign intensified for the bielection and some of the independents are claiming that they have YSR Congress support.

Finally YSR Congress Tirupati Convenor, Pratap Reddy announced that their party will be supporting TDP candidate, Sugunamma and also released a press release regarding the same. The voting for this assembly bielection will take place on February 13th.This is the second instance Congress contesting a bielection after Nandigama. Both these seats have TDP sitting MLAs who lost their lives midway and their kin contesting the bielection. However they did not put up candidate in a bielection which was due to demise of YSR Congress MLA.
