Sudden spike in students suicides in AP

Andhra Pradesh and Vijayawada is witnessing a sudden surge in Student suicides. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data for 2014. 8,423 students across India committed suicide last year while 333 are from Andhra Pradesh.

However there is a sudden spike in the students suicides in AP over the last seven months. Vijayawada has seen close to 400 suicide attempts in the last seven months while another 180 students from the state ended their lives.

During the previous Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, a committee was formed to submit a report to bring down these miserable deaths. The report was not taken care of the subsequent Congress governments. Experts say it is time to implement those recommendations.
