Supreme Asks out of Court Settlement for Ayodhya Issue

In what comes as really surprising, Supreme Court of India a little while advised an out-of-court settlement for the decades-old Ayodhya Rama Mandir issue. The court asked parties concerned to sit together to arrive at a consensus.

The Apex Court said Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is a sensitive and sentimental issue and it’s best that it is settled amicably. Earlier, Subramanian Swamy sought the urgent hearing of Ayodhya Dispute in SC. The court asked him to consult the parties and inform it about the decision on March 31.

Chief Justice of India, JS Khehar even went on to say that if the parties of Ayodhya Dispute want him to mediate, then he is ready for the task. Hindus allege that Babri Masjid was built demolishing Ram Mandir at the Ram Janma Bhoomi. The Babri Mosque was destroyed during a political rally which turned into a riot on 6 December 1992. Since, then both the sides are involved in a legal tangle.
