Suspensions Begin on the Second Day of TS Assembly

The Winter Session of Telangana Assembly witnessed stormy scenes. Congress and TDP MLAs have pressed for discussing adjournment motions over the disqualification of defected MLAs, KG to PG Education, Fees Reimbursement, Scholarships etc.

The Speaker rejected those adjournments motions. But Nine MLAs of Congress and Two MLAs of TDP (TS) stormed into Speaker’s well, displaying placards with their demands. Finally, Assembly affairs minister Harish Rao stood up and proposed one-day suspension for disrupting the proceedings of the house.

Subsequently, they are suspended for one day. Usually, the suspension is not unleashed on members immediately. Recently, BJP government at the center did not resort to suspensions even though the proceedings of the house were disrupted for the entire session of about a month.
