T govt to allow midnight merry in Hyd!

Telangana government had decided to allow hotels, restaurants and eateries in Hyderabad to operate up to midnight (12 am). This decision is taken in a bid to make Hyderabad a global city. Until now, all the eateries in GHMC have to wind up by 11 PM.

The labour, employment training & factories department on Thursday issued a GO (Ms No. 16) to allow eateries to function between 5AM to 12 midnight. Apart from hotels, even road-side food joints, Irani cafes, bakeries and ice-cream parlours will be allowed to run their businesses till midnight

The business owners in Hyderabad are welcoming this move as it will increase the footfalls to their eateries. However, the government says that they should not operate beyond the permissible time as they would be prosecuted under the AP Shops and Establishments Act 1988. This move also aims at decreasing the corruption in Police department who accept big amounts to allow eateries run late.
