T-Hub lacks female entrepreneurs

The ambitious T-Hub unveiled by Telangana government very recently to support the budding entrepreneurs in the state is witnessing a lack of female entrepreneurs there. The T-Hub has got not more than 10% applications from start-ups led by ladies.

The situation can be attributed more to the social conditions prevailing in South India precisely Telangana in this case. The state is seeing men and women at par in engineering colleges of Hyderabad but after that more than 60% of them are not pursuing further career.

And from the remaining, most end up doing jobs in big companies and getting married after 2-3 years of job experience. But when it comes to starting own start-ups, parents were also looking down at their female children ending up killing their enthusiasm and creativity. The state government is mulling to give more incentives to female entrepreneurs in T-Hub.
