Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Raja Gopal announced that he will be quitting Politics following the passing of Telangana Bill in Parliament. He said that Congress murdered Democracy in broad day light and he is not fit for this kind of politics. Several MLAs and MPs from Seema Andhra are expected to follow the suit. CM Kiran Kumar Reddy will himself resign tomorrow. He will address media tomorrow morning and later meet Governor and tender his resignation.
Earlier in the day, Telangana Bill was passed in Lok Sabha after 23 minutes of discussion. The bill was passed by voice vote. Voting took place on amendments proposed. Hyderabad will be common capital for 10 years and the clause Hyderabad to be sole capital of Telangana is defeated. The entire proceedings of Lok Sabha are put under wraps with live telecast also stopped.
