Politics over Pushkaralu – Does Not Make Any Sense!

The Andhra Telangana rifts have hit Krishna Pushkaralu as well. Instead of brotherly harmony, a gush of bad blood is existing between both the states now on every trivial issue. Telangana Brahman Parishad claims that Krishna water in Andhra Pradesh have become impure due to the mixing of Godavari water through Pattiseema Project which began recently.

They called devotees to opt for Pushkar Ghats in Telangana to get the benefits of the holy dip. However this godmen ignore a basic principle in this process. Every Big River is forming due to several of tributaries joining in to it. Krishna River is the result of its tributaries – Bhima, Haliya, Musi, Tunga – Bhadra, Ghataprabha, Malaprabha, Doodh Ganga, Pancha Ganga, Koena etc.

All these tributary rivers make Krishna. Any river getting mixed in to a river will belong to that river. If their case is true, there is no Pushkaralu for any river. Its disheartening to see regional differences creeping in to sensitive issues like this. And it is further heart breaking to see Godmen involved in such controversies.

Pattiseema Project is intended to save 13 Lakh acres of crops in Krishna delta. Even if the water becomes impure, Krishnamma is gracious enough and will make it pure at least for the good cause of the farmers. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government is publicising that the place where Godavari and Krishna meet is a Pavitra Sanghamam and is a holy place to take Pushkaralu bath.
