Mysore Sandal Controversy For Milky Beauty

Actress Tamannaah, often called a silky beauty by her fans, has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Mysore Sandal soap. While the announcement was made recently, it has now sparked controversy in Karnataka.

Karnataka government organisation KSDL announced Tamannaah as the face of Mysore Sandal, an iconic soap brand. However, the decision has drawn criticism from a BJP MP in the state.

The MP argued that Tamannaah is from Mumbai and said Kannada actors could have been chosen instead. He pointed out that Karnataka has several popular actresses who could represent the traditional brand.

The MP mentioned names such as Rashmika Mandanna, Pooja Hegde, Srinidhi Shetty, Rukmini Vasant and Ramya. According to him, selecting a local star would better represent Karnataka’s identity.

Tamannaah was reportedly chosen to help rebrand Mysore Sandal soap and connect with younger consumers. The move is part of efforts to expand the brand’s reach among new audiences.

Supporters of the decision say Tamannaah has acted in Kannada films and enjoys a strong fan base in the state. They believe such criticism is unnecessary in the era of pan India cinema.

The discussion has now turned into a wider debate about regional representation and branding choices. The controversy continues to generate reactions from both political and film circles.
