Tamil Politics to See New Twists and Turns in 2017

2017 is going to be an interesting year in Tamil Politics. There is a leadership dearth in Tamil Nadu with the sudden demise of Jayalalithaa. AIADMK is struggling to find the next leadership and Jayalalithaa’s Confidante, Sasikala is the obvious choice for the party for now.

But then Sasikala’s elevation will not be that easy with internal resistance and she will start the things by becoming the party’s General Secretary. The CM Chair ambitions may have to wait until the judgment comes out in the pending corruption cases.

On the other side, DMK is observing the developments in AIADMK keenly. Karunanidhi is likely to elevate Stalin the opposition leader to the party’s working President in the General Council Meeting of DMK on January 4th. Making Stalin powerful in the party will be to showcase a strong leadership for the people.
