TDP-BJP divorce in couple of weeks?

Buoyed by the recent victory in GHMC elections, TRS is in a mood to go to back to back elections to cash the mood of the people. The municipal elections of Khammam and Warangal will take place on March 3rd. Telangana BJP wants to severe ties with T-TDP before this elections and want to contest alone.

Telangana BJP reportedly wrote to Amit Shah that it has candidates in all the 48 seats in Warangal and wants to contest alone in this elections. They are reportedly waiting for the high command’s nod. However it is not an easy decision to take as it will have implications beyond Telangana as TDP is alliance partner in NDA.

TDP and BJP do not gel with each other in Telangana even before 2014 elections.The parties never really co-operated with each other since the start. But only continued the alliance due to the insistence of the party high command and interests of the party at central level. The recent electoral defeat came in handy for BJP to force quitting the alliance.
