TDP Cadre Should Not Over-React Unnecessarily!

Telugu Desam Cadre is often venting out its frustration on the Government on one issue or the other.

But then, this frustration venting will become contagious sometimes and they find problems with everything.

Here is such an instance. The other day, Minister Nara Lokesh attended a marriage ceremony in Mangalagiri.

A section of Telugu Desam Party’s Social Media is fuming at Lokesh saying that the groom is the son of former Tenali YSR Congress MLA Annabattuni Sivakumar.

Sivakumar was infamous for slapping a voter on Polling Day in 2024.

The TDP cadre are after Lokesh questioning him about how he can attend the wedding when TDP cadres are losing lives fighting YSR Congress.

But then, the facts are different.

The Bride is the granddaughter of TDP’s ex-minister M.S. Koteswara Rao (Late) and her father, Rajendra contested as Guntur MP in the 2009 elections. Their family has been a TDP family for several years.

Koteswara Rao was the MLA of Nara Lokesh’s Constituency, Mangalagiri twice in the past.

So what is wrong in Lokesh attending the Wedding?

Even after knowing this, some people are still finding fault with Lokesh pointing at the Groom’s family.

This is simple over-reactions. There is no rule that marriages can not happen between two different political parties.

There are many instances where members of the same family are in different parties and they meet in the family functions.

Lokesh attended the wedding respecting the Bride’s family’s invitation. They have been in TDP for a long time and deserve that respect.

The Political Affiliation of the other side is irrelevant here.

Cadre can always question the party and government if there is any wrongdoing. But this level of micro-management and criticism is too harsh and completely unwarranted.

If they are after issues like this as well, the feedback on the important issues will be lost in the clutter.
