TDP constituencies lose majority voters!

The recent pruning of Voters list by GHMC had removed over 4.77 Lakh duplicate, dead and ineligible voters within 18 limits of the corporation. Interestingly TDP constituencies have lost majority votes in this pruning. Kukatpally which is said to be a bastion of TDP and settlers tops the list with 1,21,085 votes being deleted from the list.

Following next is Khairatabad (Circle 10) with 50,112 voters, Quthbullapur with 43,140 voters, Abids Circle with over 44,000 voters and L B Nagar with 35,310 voters. Majority of these areas have huge number of settlers who are not favourable to the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Moreover there are allegations on GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar acting in favour of TRS and he spearheaded the entire exercise.

Of the 4,77,972 deleted voters, 53,980 were identified as duplicate voters, 5,458 were found to be ineligible, 22,508 were found to be dead, 3,49,217 voters were deleted as they shifted their houses and 46,809 were removed as their doors were locked. The deletions are expected to swell further as GHMC will be issuing notices to another 1,78,043 voters. Majority of these will be deleted.
