TDP government halts BJP office plans in AP!

Chandrababu Naidu government has shown red signal to BJP’s plan to have a capital by the side of the Krishna river. Bhoomi Puja of this office was recently done by Venkaiah Naidu in the land donated by party’s Narasapuram MP, Gokaraju Rangaraju. However the government is unlikely to give permission as the land is illegally occupied violating the norms under the River Conservation Act.

The act disallows constructions within 100 yards of the river bed and the proposed office falls in this prohibited area. TDP do not want to encourage the allegation on its coalition partner and the government just announced that it will not allow any party to construct their offices in the core capital region.

Recently, CM Chandrababu Naidu ordered the irrigation department to survey all illegal properties on Krishna river bank. Gokaraju, who owns 2,700 square yards in three places, topped the list of violators. We will have to see if Naidu relaxes rules to please the BJP top brass!
