Nara Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12 amidst the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many other prominent personalities, and a huge crowd.

Along with Naidu, 24 MLAs took oath as the cabinet ministers of the state. Out of these 24, 17 are first-time ministers.

The Telugu Desam Party has given opportunities to first-timers, and in the process, many senior leaders have lost their cabinet posts.

However, they have accepted the decision with a lot of maturity and proved that the party comes first for them and not positions.

Former minister Ayyannapatrudu welcomed the decision to hand over ministries to juniors. He said that they would always guide ministers as seniors.

He recalled that NTR gave him a ministry when he was just 25 and asked if any senior leader felt disappointed at that time. He backed Chandrababu’s decision and asserted that he has no problems with it.

On the other side, another senior leader, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, stated that everyone expects ministries but it is the high command’s choice at the end of the day.

However, people feel that Buchaiah Chowdary deserves a significant position in the TDP government as this might be his last election.

On the whole, senior TDP leaders showed a lot of maturity after losing ministries, unlike leaders in the rival party.
