TDP Shocks Jagan In Own District!

Badvel in Andhra Pradesh is going for by-election very soon. The sitting YSR Congress MLA passed away necessitating the by-election and it is likely to happen in November. YSR Congress which claims to have got a massive victory in MPTC, ZPTC elections (thanks to TDP’s boycott) has got a shock in this constituency.

TDP has managed to win the ZPTC of the Gopavaram Mandal of Badvel constituency. During the Panchayat elections, YSR Congress won five panchayats out of seven in this Mandal. YSR Congress got a big lead in the Gopavaram Mandal in the 2014 and 2019 Assembly elections.

This resurgence will worry YSR Congress big time. The election has sent a message that TDP will not take this by-election lightly. This is in Rayalaseema where the Cycle party has struggled big time in 2019 and it is from CM’s own constituency. And it is a constituency TDP has last won only in the 1999 election.

YSR Congress won this constituency in two constituencies. TDP need not win this constituency. If it managed to put up a tough fight, that should be enough to set warning bells ringing for the Ruling Party.
