TDP wants to contest Warangal by-election

Telugu Desam Party had formally informed Telangana BJP that it wants to contest in Warangal by-election. BJP had previously contested this seat in 2014 elections and normally it should contest the by-election as well.

However, TDP feels that BJP cannot give any competition to the ruling party there given its zero base there and so wanting to contest there. Given the special conditions prevailing in the state, TDP feels it can give tough competition there.

T-TDP had informed this to State BJP President Kishan Reddy and Union Minister Dattatreya. A joint meeting of both the parties on Sunday will take a final decision on the contest. The by-election was necessitated with the resignation of Kadiyam Srihari who left the parliament seat to become the deputy CM of the state.
