TDP surprises with remarkable performance!

Our readers are aware that Telugu Desam Party in a bid to expand as a national party contested in the local elections of Andaman and Nicobar islands. The elections happened few days ago for a total of 24 wards there and counting finished there a short while ago.

TDP managed to put up a very impressive performance. The party had managed to win 2 wards while is in second place in 16 wards. BJP won the majority wards by winning 10. Congress came second with 6 wards while Tamil parties – DMK and AIADMK won one each. Others have won 4 wards.

TDP had sent in few senior leaders to campaign there and it yielded good results there. The islands have good number of Telugu population. Even though, BJP and TDP are alliance partners here, both the parties put up candidates there. This will be a morale booster for the party to try its luck in states where there is a significant Telugu population.
