Teary Farewell to Jayalalithaa!

A sea of humanity descended on Rajaji Hall to see the beloved Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa for one last time. Several celebrities from films and politics rushed to Chennai to see her and pay their respects for one last time. Even the opposition DMK Leaders also paid their respects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of India, Pranab Mukherjee also paid their respects. With them coming, Chennai was put on a Protocol gridlock. Finally, Jayalalithaa’s funeral took place at Chennai’s Marina Beach a little while ago. No media allowed covering the funeral of chief minister Jayalalithaa. Police said this is not a public program while the normal public was allowed.

The funeral happened just 20 feet away to MGR’s memorial. Centre declared State Mourning today in view of the demise of Jayalalithaa. National flag on all govt buildings to be flown at half-mast. On the other side, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned for the day after paying rich tributes to the Iron Lady of India.
