Telangana Budget to serve the old dishes!

The upcoming Telangana budget may not have any new proposals. The finance department of the state has started preparation for the next year’s budget but they may have to repeat 90% of the last budget proposals. Telangana government opted to put up a full fledged budget despite having very less time remaining in the fiscal.

As a result, several proposals just remained on paper. In some cases, funds allocated were not released, while in others, funds could not be spent because there were no proper guidelines. So these proposals may be carry forward for the next year too.

Several proposals in the last budget like Mission Kakatiya, Water grid, several lift irrigation schemes, super speciality hospital in each district etc did not use the allocated funds. Government may implement decisions like increasing constituency development fund and enhancement of legislators’ monthly salary in this budget.
