‘T’ gets relief in Power ahead of Summer!

Ahead of Summer, Power Crisis ridden Telangana state has got minor respite. Telangana is likely to draw Power from the Power line from Sholapur in Maharashtra to Raichur in Karnataka. This line was reserved by Tamil Nadu for drawing power from Sholapur but the line between Sholapur and Raichur will be complete but the line between Raichur and Tamil Nadu will take more time to complete.

Telangana government is intensifying efforts to use this line to draw power from Chhattisgarh. Power will be sent from Chhattisgarh to Sholapur and there to Raichur and from then to Telangana. Efforts are on to bring at least 300 MW power through this line and it will be a huge respite for the state ahead of Summer and the power demand likely to touch peaks.

Also Center had promised 800 MW to Telangana from Dabol Power Plant. Since there is no line from there to use it, Center is considering the idea of exchanging the power with that in Ramagundam NTPC in Karimnagar. If this is made possible, it will be a huge benefit for the new state.
