KCR steps back on controversial FAST!

Telangana government had finally stepped back on the controversial FAST (Financial Assistance for Students in Telangana) Scheme. According to the guidelines of this scheme, those students who were residing in the region prior to 1956 (the year of United State formation) will be eligible for Fees reimbursement. This scheme was rolled out to make sure settlers of AP are not benefited by it.

After the high court slashed government’s stand on this scheme calling it Anti-National, the state cabinet decided that this scheme is cancelled. CM KCR himself announced this in a Press meet later and clarified that government will continue to use the old method adopted in United State.

The cabinet also agreed to release the 862 Crores arrears towards this scheme in the United State. This is the first back step of KCR after forming the government. The Chief Minister is forced to take this decision since high court is literally hounding the government on this issue for the last few months.
