Telangana Govt Orders First of Its Kind Survey

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has directed the agriculture department to launch a survey to find out all the details of farmers in the state. The data pertaining to more than 52 lakh farmer will be collected by 16th of this month.

The phone numbers and Aadhar Card numbers of the farmers will be collected in this door-to-door survey. The findings of the survey will figure out the ground reality with regard to agriculture and farmers’ conditions. The data will be used as basic input for all the future planning.

The government’s Free Fertilizers Scheme will be implemented based on the data collected. The survey will collect key information about land holding, tenant farmers, productivity, crop varieties, soil status, financial status of farmers, use of fertilizers, rural credit availability, indebtedness of the farmers and reasons for it, and market accessibility.
