Telangana govt decides to pay AP students fees!

Telangana government has finally decided to pay the pending fees to the Engineering Colleges under the Fees Reimbursement scheme. This payments will also include the fees of AP students studying in Telangana region over the last four years. The government has 1587 Crores arreas under this scheme to the colleges. However with the government’s decision only to help students belonging to Telangana, it was not clear who will be paying the fee of AP students settled and studied in Telangana.

Fearing legal implications, Telangana government decided to pay the fees all together and released 500 Crores as first installment. The government plans to clear remaining arrears in the next two months. However this scheme will not be implemented from this year. The government is preparing guidelines for FAST – Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana which will only pay the fees of students whose families have settled in Telangana before 1956, the year the United State came in to existence.
