T-govt’s defensive stance on Palamuru

Telangana government defends that all the permissions needed for the Palamuru Lift Irrigation Project are obtained in the United State itself and there is no need of new permissions. This is in response to AP government’s letter of objection to Central Water Commission (CWC).

However experts say Telangana government is erring on this issue. It is true that Palamuru project was conceived and sanctioned much before the division of united AP by the then State government. But the project was then planned at Jurala. Now Telangana government is planning it at Srisailam.

The project DPR is totally changed while only the name remained the same which means permissions are to be sought once again for taking up this project.
