Telangana Govt Does Not Even Trust A Judge From Andhra?

Telangana high court is hearing the issue of pumping water from the Srisailam project for power generation. Telangana Advocate General objected to Justice Ramachandra Rao’s bench hearing the case and asked that the Chief Justice Bench hear the case.

The petitioners informed that AG requested a change of bench because Ramachandra Rao belongs to Andhra Pradesh. “This coming from the Advocate General is very unfortunate. How can you raise objections after the arguments have already begun?” Justice Ramachandra Rao’s bench questioned.

The Advocate General is representing the Telangana Government. If he has asked for the change of judge because he belongs to Andhra Pradesh, it implies that that the state government does not trust the judge hailing from the neighboring state.

Telangana Government has come under criticism for pumping water for power generation without filling the reservoir for future use. As a result, the water is going waste into the sea through Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh government has already complained to the KRMB and the Union Government regarding the same.
