Telangana Govt Has No Intention To End RTC Strike?

Telangana Government had refused the High Court offer of appointing a high power committee comprising of three former Supreme Court judges. The government submitted an affidavit in the court that there is no mention of the committee in the Industrial Conflicts Act and so, it will not agree to the proposal.

The RTC unions have informed the court that they would stop the strike if the court appoints the high power committee trusting the committee to solve their issues. So, the government by refusing the committee also turned down the chances of restoring normalcy.

This attitude of the government is giving rise to new doubts on its commitment. One could not stop wondering if the government never wants the strike to end so that it can privatize the Road Transport. On the other hand, the strike had reached 39th day today.

One more striking employee, Naresh who is a driver in Mahabubabad depot committed suicide by consuming pesticides. He left behind a suicide letter in which he claimed the Chief Minister as the reason for his death.
