Telangana Health Scheme proves to be toothless!

The cashless healthcare scheme for government employees, pensioners and their families which was announced by Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao is proving to be useless.

The Super-specialty hospitals in Hyderabad are yet to sign an MOU with the state government according the new guidelines of this scheme. The United State had Aarogyasri serving super specialty hospitals to provide free treatment to the government employees.

Telangana government has asked the super specialty hospitals to provide medical care to its employees based on the existing ‘Aarogyasri’ rates but the hospitals are not ready to offer the treatment as they claim Aarogya Sri rates are not enough to maintain the quality. They are demanding the government to provide them the existing tariffs in Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and NIMS. They also say Aarogyasri is for Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries treated in general wards of private hospitals and the government employees can not be treated as the BPL beneficiaries.
