Telangana High Court Strikes Down Vijayasai Reddy’s Petition

The High Court has dismissed a petition filed by MP Vijayasai Reddy in AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets cases. The CBI court has decided to hear the ED cases first. Vijayasai Reddy has approached the High Court challenging the decision of the CBI court.

He asked the High Court to direct the CBI court to hear the CBI cases first or both the CBI and ED cases parallelly. The counsel representing the MP said it would not be fair to first conduct the trial of ED cases as they were registered based on the FIRs issued by the CBI.

The counsel told that the court that if the CBI special court acquits the accused in CBI cases, the cases filed by the ED would lose legal sanctity and hence would be null and void. The High Court has rejected Vijayasai Reddy’s arguments and upheld the CBI court’s decision.

On the other hand, the court also dismissed the petitions filed by Jagati Publications and Raghuram Cements on the same issue.
