Telangana in Financial Doldrums

Telangana government which claims itself as a Rich State seem to be in financial trouble. The government had imposed restrictions on district treasuries not to clear the pending bills. The reason for this financial trouble is that expenditure of the state had shot up beyond the incomes garnered by the state.

The state government had claimed that they have got 27.5% more income through taxes when compared to the first two months of the last year. But then the income is still not sufficient to make both ends reach. In that 7000 Crore, government gets 4000 Crore and 2000 Crore will go for Salaries and another 1000 Crore to pay interests on loans.

While clearing bills, ambitious schemes of the government like Mission Bhageeradha, Mission Kakatiya, Double Bed Room flats are given top priority. The government had asked to stop bills of Pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi, Irrigations works and others.
