Telangana is no match to AP in this aspect!

While both the Telugu states compete each other on various issues, Andhra Pradesh is much ahead of Telangana in releasing funds for minority welfare. Telangana government had allocated amount of Rs 1,030 crore for minority welfare and released only 27.1 percent – around Rs 280 crore. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh has a lesser allocation – Rs 270 crore – and it has released Rs 187 crore so far which is 69.2 percent of its allocation.

Telangana officials say the funds released by the new state looks small as the state did not clear the fees reimbursement arrears while AP had completed releasing money for the scholarship scheme for the current fiscal. AP had released 80 Crore to minority students under this scheme out of the 187 Crore it spent.

MIM is particularly gearing up to pin down TRS government in the upcoming budget session for just limiting the 1000 plus Crore budget to minorities on papers and not releasing the funds. It is already known that Telangana government had announced itself first in Telugu history to allot 1000 Crore for minority welfare.
