Telangana’s Land Hassles Cleared but with Frills!

Hyderabad High Court has allowed Telangana government to acquire lands for industrial corridor near Zaheerabad, Medak district. The high court got satisfied with GO 190 brought up by the state government which makes the changes suggested by the high court to its earlier land acquisition GO 123.

High Court cleared the route for Land Acquisition after it is satisfied with GO 190. But then this comes with some frills. The court asked the government not to acquire the lands which are being cultivated without clearing the compensation package. The court also clearly stated that unless the rehabilitation is not done, houses can not be vacated.

Telangana government brought to the notice of the court about petitions motivated by political intentions and requested not to entertain such petitions. The high court clarified that they will take up further petitions only if the victims approach them. This comes as a huge relief to the state government.

With this, all the hassles for the land acquisition are cleared for the state government. The land acquisition for various projects is the first biggest headache for KCR since he came to power two years ago. Opposition parties are raking up the issue big time as they see this as an opportunity to corner the government and make their presence felt.
