Sales were particularly high in wine shops, followed by bars, and pubs, bringing substantial revenue to the government. As usual, Hyderabad topped the list in liquor sales, with sales peaking last Saturday and Sunday.

The Excise Department reported that 10,44,000 liquor cases and 17,59,000 beer bottles were sold across the state. While Hyderabad and Rangareddy ranked highest in liquor sales this festive season, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, and Warangal followed in the next three positions.

However, Excise officials noted a slight decrease in government revenue from liquor sales this Dasara season compared to last year. While the government earned Rs. 317.21 crores last Dasara, this year’s revenue was around Rs. 312 crores, marking a reduction of five crores.
