Telangana: Panchayat Elections In December?

With action in Jubilee Hills ending, the Telangana government has shifted focus to local body elections. Party insiders say the polls are likely in December. The final approval from CM Revanth Reddy is still pending as leaders prepare for the next phase.

Exit polls showing a Congress lead in Jubilee Hills pushed the government to move fast. TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said the CM will take a decision with Cabinet ministers within two days. He added that the government is ready to conduct polls at the earliest.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said there is a positive wave across Telangana. He expressed confidence that the Telangana Congress will remain in power for ten years. He said the government will act based on the High Court ruling within three days and prepare for panchayat and ZPTC elections.

He said the government will follow the Telangana High Court’s ruling on reservations. Goud said they are prepared to offer 42 percent BC reservations. He accused the BJP government at the Center of creating roadblocks and criticised Union Ministers Bandi Sanjay and Kishan Reddy for not addressing the issue.

The focus is now on conditions in Telangana villages. Hygiene and cleanliness in several villages remain poor. Special officers were appointed to manage administration, but many have not visited their assigned villages even once a week.

Goud also responded to talk of internal differences. He said he has no issues with the CM and did not push for a Cabinet post. He said he will follow the AICC decision without hesitation.

He ended by saying he is confident that Mahaghatbandhan will win in Bihar. His comments come as political attention widens beyond Telangana.
