Telangana Ministers fearing to contest MLC elections!

Kadiyam Srihari and Tummala Nageswara Rao are in Telangana cabinet with out winning as MLA for various reasons. According to the constitution, they should be a member of any house within six months to continue as Ministers. Normally in such cases they will be sent to Council when there are no bielections around the corner.

Luckily notification of two MLC seats has arrived. These MLC seats are in Graduates Quota. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly offered both of them to contest and win this elections but either of them are interested. They are hesitating to contest the elections fearing of defeat and instead wants to become MLcs in MLAs Quota where a victory is guaranteed.

So both the ministers are not contesting the election. The nominations for the MLC elections began today. Employees Union President Devi Prasad is confirmed as one of the candidates of TRS for this election. Kadiyam who is Warangal MP was inducted in to state cabinet after ousting Rajaiah. And Tummala Nageswara Rao who lost last election from TDP was taken in to cabinet to woo Kamma community.
