TS Speaker defends merger of parties!

Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti successfully merged the legislative parties of two opposition parties in the state by encouraging defections. Telangana Speaker Madhusudhanachari merged the legislative parties of TDP and YSR Congress after two-thirds of their MLAs joined the ruling TRS party.

The other day, the Speaker defended his actions in both these issues and asserted that he followed the necessary procedures prescribed by the constitution while deciding on the merger. He said that he did the mergers with out any influences and also he is not in any sort of hurry while doing that.

However the speaker did not answer how he can decided up on the merger when the MLAs who applied for it have disqualification petitions pending on them. Morally and Legally, Speaker should at least accept or decline those petitions before deciding on the merger petitions. Lets see if courts will interfere on this issue at some point.
