Telangana’s Hydro Power benefiting AP!

Telangana government has finally relented to the pressure and temporarily halted the power production in Srisailam Left Canal. Instead Telangana government has started producing power in Nagarjuna Sagar Project. Andhra Pradesh is also getting benefited when Telangana is using Nagarjuna Sagar project. Whenever the water is released from the project for power production, the water is serving the irrigation needs of Krishna delta.

On the other side, the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) is working on a solution to solve the Srisailam Power issue for ever. It is said that the board has sent draft operational guidelines to both states regarding the water usage. The board will take the opinions of both the states and finally prepare operational guidelines which has to be obliged by both the states.

This draft proposal is prepared after a careful study and analysis of data regarding crop water management and other needs.
