Telecom Service Providers nervous with Phone Tapping issue!

The Phone Tapping issue is becoming a big headache for Telecom Service Providers in both the Telugu States. Andhra Pradesh government had issued notices to all the eight service providers to attend to Bhavanipuram Police Station, Vijayawada by Monday at 11 AM.

Details of 120 Phone numbers, written requests for tapping if any before or after were sought from them. Government is also suspecting that 27 other phone numbers may have been also tapped. Already Telangana government had arranged a secret meeting of Service Providers and informed them that the government will not want them to provide any information which may effect them.

Given both the governments serious on this issue, the Service Providers find themselves in a fix. Since AP and Telangana both are in a common telecom circle, they are obliged to give the information sought by either governments. But AP sending notices for them to come to a Police Station in AP indicates the seriousness of the issue. The Phone Tapping case is expected to move at brisk pace from Monday.
