Telugu Mistakes in Hyderabad Metro Rail Disappoints

To avoid any controversies, L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail Authorities have been using all four languages – Telugu, English, Hindi, and Urdu on the signage and announcements in the stations and the trains. But then, Telugu Language Experts say that several words are being misspelled in the announcement.

Mistakes are also evident in the messages that pop up on the electronic display which instructs the commuters. At the stations, Customer Care has been translated as ‘Viniyogadaruni Samrakshana’. In Telugu, ‘Samrakshana’ means protection.

Officials say the little mistakes will be corrected very soon. Since its launch, 1.5 lakh commuters (on an average) have been availing of Metro each day and officials say that the numbers are expected to remain the same for at least another month
